Infrastructure¶
Kubernetes¶
We utilize a Kubernetes-based infrastructure deployed in a public cloud environment located on German soil. This allows us to:
- Scale resources dynamically as needed
- Leverage cloud-native technologies and practices
- Maintain data residency within Germany for regulatory compliance
- Our infrastrucutre spans over two logical failure zones to guarantee availability
- Our clusters spread from four to over a dozens of nodes if the application is receiving heavy traffic
- Were using Suse Rancher for our clusters management
Partnership with IONOS¶
We are currently in the process of becoming an IONOS partner. This strategic partnership brings several advantages:
- IONOS is a CNCF-certified Kubernetes provider, ensuring compatibility and adherence to Kubernetes standards
- Their managed Kubernetes service offers features like auto-scaling, precise node definition, and integrated storage solutions
- We gain access to IONOS's expertise in cloud-native technologies and their involvement in the CNCF ecosystem
This partnership aligns with our commitment to using open-source and CNCF-certified technologies, while also providing us with robust managed services to enhance our Kubernetes deployments and overall cloud strategy.
Our infrastructure is built entirely on open-source technologies, aligning with our commitment to open standards and avoiding vendor lock-in.
API Gateway¶
We employ an state-of-art open-soure API gateway solution, which offers:
- Scalability
- Extensibility through a rich ecosystem of plugins
- Kubernetes-native integration for seamless deployment and management
- High-Avalability
Databases¶
- We make use of managed database designed for fast processing of data
- Our databases are located in the our partners datacenter in Frankfurt, Germany.
- State-of-art backup strategy
- High-availability guaranteed by our partner
Monitoring and Observability¶
- We implement open-source monitoring solutions to ensure comprehensive visibility into our system's performance and health.
- This includes metrics collection, logging, and tracing capabilities.
This technology stack and infrastructure allow us to build scalable, resilient, and secure applications while leveraging the benefits of cloud computing and open-source technologies.
